The Travellers´ Choice Destinos prizes which TripAdvisor, the most important trip website in the world awards, place the municipality in eighth position nationwide and as the first destination of the Balearic Islands.
The municipality of Calvià has been awarded this morning at the Travellers´ Choice Destinos awards as the eighth best destination in Spain according to the website TripAdvisor users. Barcelona, Madrid and Seville figure in the first places of the awards.
The Mayor of Calvià, Manuel Onieva, who has collected the prize from hands of the director of Turespaña, Marta Blanco, and from the responsible of Destinos de TripaDvisor, Leire González, has shown his happiness and has highlighted that "we are very proud of receiving this distinction from TripAdvisor. This helps us to continue working in the improvement of our municipality and to mantain Calvià as one of the favourite destinations of the tourists. Our objective is to continue working in this line and progress in the objective of attracting visitors not only in the high season but also throughout the year".
Thus, Calvià is placed amongst the top ten destinations in Spain after Barcelona, Madrid, Seville, Granada, Corralejo, Málaga and Marbella according to the punctuation of the users. Córdoba and Sóller are amongst them, completing therefore the ten first places. Therefore, the municipality of Calvià becomes the most valued destination in the Balearic Islands.
