The consistory earmarks 6.000 euros for the fulfilment of free time activities for the young people with disability living in the municipality.
The Calvià Town Hall has signed a collaboration agreement with Asdica (Asociación de Personas con Discapacidad de Calvià/Association for the Disabled People of Calvià), through which earmarks 6.000 euros for the fulfilment of free time activities for the young people with disability living in the municipality.
The signature of this document will allow the Asdica collective to continue with their free time activities, such as the practice of sport, yoga and dance. Also, it is to be highlighted that the Association is enjoying the use of the municipal premises in Son Ferrer provided by the consistory without any cost.
With this agreement, the goverment team expects to contribute even more with the social integration of the youth with physical and mental limitations of Calvià "who belong to this collective of approximately 150 memberships" explained the Deputy Mayor for Social Services, Cristina de León.
Both, the Deputy Mayor for Social Services, Cristina de León, and Joan Venys as representative of Asdica attended the agreement signature event. De León highlighted the task with no profit motive in mind of this association and "as it was expected, this consistory supports them so they can achieve their objectives". On his behalf, Venys expressed his gratitude for the Town Hall's contribution as it is “essential for the survival of the Association".
