The Town Hall is the main sponsor of these tournaments in a bid to promote the sports tourism facilities of the municipality as a first level events destination.

Calvià will hold in February five tournaments of the International Tennis Federation, as part of the professional calendar, under the name of ITF Pro Circuit, which marks the beginning of the professional carreer of the tennis players who aspire to become part of the world 's elite of this sport.

In these tournaments is where the tennis players start their first steps to their professional carrier who wish to obtain the ATP and WTA classifications, thus allowing them to have access to the previous competitions of the great tournaments.


Tennis enthusiasts will be able to freely enjoy of a high level game, with sports people who are amongst the 200 and 400 best rackets in the world together with the most outstanding juniors.

Each tournament is provided with 10.000 dollars in prizes and the two first tournaments, named ITF Futures Men Malllorca I and II, will take place at the Tennis Academy Mallorca-Club Tenis Paguera from 2
nd to 8th February and from 9th to 14th February successively.

The women's competition will take place at the Tennis Academy Guillermo Vilas in Palma Nova with the ITF Women Mallorca I, II and III tournaments from 9th to 15nd February, from 16th to 22nd February and from 23th February to 1st March successively.


The chart of individuals will be composed of 32 players from which 8 will come out from the previous phase and another 4 players will do so through invitations (Wild Cards). The previous phase will be played the weekend before the start of the final chart and 64 players will dispute it. Also a chart of 16 couples will be played in the Doubles modality.



With regards to the participation of the local players it is to be highlighted the presence of Jaume Antoni Munar, number four of the world junior ranking and member of the Spanish team and of Yvonne Cavallé the Balearic player with the best WTA ranking.

The organization has given priority to the rackets of our community for the invitations, concludes the federation.
