An extraordinary period of grants has now been opened so that no children of the municipality stays without school supplies. It is addressed to families with difficulties and answers to a commitment of the investiture's agreement
THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL'S DEPARTMENT FOR SOCIAL SERVICES OPENS AN EXTRAORDINARY PERIOD OF GRANTS SO THAT NO SCHOOLCHILD OF THE MUNICIPALITY STAYS WITHOUT TEXT BOOKS OR SCHOOL SUPPLIES
The action answers to a commitment of the investiture's agreemeent and it is addressed to families with economic and social difficulties.
The Calvià Town Hall, through its Social Services, has opened an extraordinary period of grants for the acquisition of text books and school supplies, addressed to families of the municipality with special economic and social difficulties.
From social services they have already put in contact with those families susceptible to be able to receive this extraordinary grant. Also, the application forms will be at disposal of the citizens from 1st to 30th September at the Municipal Centres of Social Services, and also at the school centres and AMIPAS of Calvià, and a telephone for further information (971 13 26 45) has been provided for those people who need this aid and meet the requirements to have access to the economic compensation.
This extraordinary economic aid answers to the commitment that the municipal government team acquired in the investiture's agreement, which in its point 10, states that “We will develop policies so that all the schoolchildren of the municipality registered in the public centres of Calvià can have text books, emphasizing in families with social exclusion risk, promoting its reuse”. The will and the commitment of the Town Hall is that no schoolchild of Calvià stays without books or school supplies because of economic or social problems.
In order to receive these extraordinary grants it is necessary to fulfill a series of requirements such as be registered in the municipal registry and in a public Obligatory Secondary or Primary Education Centre, have not bought neither the books nor the school supplies, have not received the grant for the acquisition of thext books (Announcement of grants for the acquisition of text books for residents registered in the municipality of Calvià, school registered in obligatory primary or secondary education for the 2015 school year), and have a certain maximum income, amongst others.
With regards to the amount, with the aim of favouring the families in a situation of economic or social difficulty the equal access to the resources, this will be the same one contemplated in the Announcement of grants for the acquisition of text books for those residents registered in the municipality of Calvià, school registered in obligatory primary or secondary education for the 2015 school year, which goes from 110 to 225 euros per person, depending on the course in which they are registered.
