The Mayor of Calvià has presented the new Local Police Chief, Justino Trenas, whose mission is the introduction of the Community Police project in the municipality, amongst others.

Alfonso Rodríguez Badal has started his intervention expressing his gratitude to the person who, up to now, has been the Local Police Chief of Calvià, José Luís Rubiales, and his second-in-command, the Police Inspector Antonio Pascual, for their work in difficult moments, for their professionalism and dedication which has turned into, amongst other many things, in an improvement of the results in the area of Magaluf. The Mayor guaranteed them that “we will need you because we have a hard and intense work ahead, and we know that you will be there”.

 

Rodríguez Badal has welcomed the new Police Chief, ensuring that he answers to profile searched to start up the Community Police project, which will continue placing Calvià as a leading municipality also in the Local Police field. “For sure -he added” we will make this adaptation from the hands of Justino Trenas and of all the commands. They will have in the government team all the necessary support”.

 

On his part, the new Local Police Chief of Calvià, Justino Trenas, has thanked the confidence, pointing out that “it is a honour to be in this team because the Local Police of Calvià is a referent in the Balearics because it has always been outstanding. I can share my experience, training, conviction in the model, vocation of public service and enthusiasm”.

 

Justino Trenas is Police Major since the year 2007. He has a Master's Degree in Law, he has undertaken a University Specialisation Course in Criminal Law and Criminal Sciences, as well as he is Specialist in Criminology and Judicial Police.

 

As Major, he has been Head of the North Area's Territorial Unit (Community Police) (2003-2006); Head of the East Area's Territorial Unit (Community Police), Head of the Immediate Intervention (UII) and the Group of Preventive Action (GAP) (2006-2009); Head of the West Area's Territorial Unit (Community Police) and the Department of Information Systems and Communication (SIC) of the Strategic Plannig Police Station (2009-2011). Head of the West District's Community Police Precinct (2011-2015).

 

He has a wide experience in the introduction and the management of Proximity or Community Police models. He designed the “Community Police” Unit of the programme EUROCOP, which introduction has meant the creation of an integrated tool which facilitates the management of the areas estrusted to the Community Police. He has participated in the design and the start up of the Neighbourhood Police's Statement of Services of the Local Police of Palma, certified by AENOR since the year 2010. He has designed numerous procedures of action integral of the Quality Documentation System of the Local Police of Palma, regarding the Community Police functions. And he has proposed and developed a teamwork system called “Equipo de Barrio” (Neighbourhood Team), within the frame of the new Community Police model developed recently in Palma, amongst others.

 

Furthermore, he has been conferred with the Cruz's Distinctions of Police Merit with white emblem awarded by the Ministry of the Interior, and the Medal of Police Merit with blue emblem in recognition to the police carreer awarded by the Palma Town Hall's Plenary.
