The Calvià Town Hall presents the Programme of Youth Revitalisation and Participation 2015-2016 at the Secondary Education Centres of the municipality

The Calvià Town Hall's Youth Department, headed by the Councillor Israel Molina, has started a series of visits to the different SEC of the municipality to inform the centres' managerial and teaching staff of the Youth Service's premises and activities.

At the first meeting, which took place at the SEC of Son Ferrer, it was presented the project of revitalisation in the centres and the new projects which will be carried out from the Youth and the Citizen Participation Department. It has been informed of the European programme Erasmus+, in which the department participates this year, and both, pupils and teachers of the centres have been invited to participate in a working session which will take place on 22nd October, within the programme of activities organised during the International Seminar 'Step in, informal is normal?', in which six European countries participate.

The centre came to a series of agreements at the meeting, such as provide the centre with a notice board or count with the presence of a youth coordinator during the leisure time in order to inform all the student body.

The Youth Service will also collaborate in some of the non formal nature activities which are organised by the centres and in those initiatives of the pupils which have as a main objective the study trip financing. Also, visits of pupils of the different professional training courses will be programmed, with the collaboration of the centre, thus facilitating the youths of Calvià to know other youth initiatives of their interest within the non formal education field.

All in all, about 2.400 pupils, from 1st to 4th of ESO (Obligatory Secondary Education), Baccalaureate and Professional Training Courses will have the opportunity to undertake experiences together with other youths within the artistic creation, healthy leisure and participation field.

Amongst the projects for the new year, it has been forwarded the will of starting the new participatory budgets of Calvià. Through them, the youths will be able to propose and choose projects which have as an objective population the youth of Calvià, and which will be able to be implemented not only at the education centres but also in the rest of the municipality.

The second great project which is being prepared for this legislature are the Self-managed Youth Centres, spaces in which the youths will be able to meet and interact with total freedom and security when undertaking the activities decided by them.
