"WHAT DO YOU DO AGAINST GENDER VIOLENCE? ACT!"

The Calvià Town Hall's Social Welfare Service organises a Day of civic reflection and consciousness raising on 25th November on the occasion of the International Day against Gender Violence.

The reading of the Calvià Town Hall's Commitment against Gender Violence, carried out by Nati Francés, Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion, will be held at the main entrance of Calvià Town Hall at 12 p.m.

The conference will start at 5 p.m., at the Sala Palmanova and will be inaugurated by the Mayor, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal.

The short films 'El orden de las cosas' and 'Libre directo' will be shown at 5.15 p.m. It is expected to be a space of debate and reflection on the gender violence and the involvement of the citizenship in its prevention and eradication.

A talk-workshop called “Síntoma de Grey” (Grey's symptom), carried out by Mrs. Meritxell Esquirol, will take place at 6.30 p.m. Through the books and film “50 shades of Grey”, the cultural analyst expert in feminisms, will pose a conversation and a debate on the hypersexualisation of women in the media context.

The conference will come to an end at 7.45 p.m.
