THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL CONTRACT 60 PEOPLE DERIVED FROM THE YOUTH EMPLOYMENT GUARANTEE AND THE SOIB LOCAL CORPORATIONS' PROGRAMMES
The Town Hall achieves the awarding of 8 programmes promoted by the SOIB, the European Social Fund and the SEPE
The selection of candidates is carried out by the SOIB
The Calvià Town Hall has decided to, in this legislature, promote active policies of employment with the double objective of offering occupational training and improve the employability of the people of the municipality in situation of more vulnerability. This way, the municipal corporation has been working actively these last months to present different projects.
With the spotlight focused on prioritising the occupation for those youths and adults having more problems to find a job, the Calvià Town Hall has presented different projects to the SOIB which have been awarded recently and which will mean the contracting by the Town Hall of 30 youths and 30 over 45-year-old adults, during 12 and 6 months, respectively. It is about Youth Employment Guarantee and SOIB Local Corporations' projects, promoted by the SOIB, the European Social Fund and the SEPE, and which will be carried out by the Town Hall, through the different municipal departments and the IFOC.
With regards to the Youth Employment Guarantee Programme (under 30 years old), the SOIB is the one in charge of undertaking the selection as from the platform in which the youths in situation of vulnerability have registered, through the Town Hall's areas of Social Action and Youth, the IFOC and the SOIB office of Magaluf.
Three projects are framed within this programme in the area of Galatzó, promoted by the Environment Department and the IFOC, through a 12-month training contract. It is about two activities of preservation and improvement of Forests, and a third activity focused on the tourist offer diversification actions, called 'Rutas de Calvià' (Calvià Routes) in which routes of the Galatzó Public Estate will be catalogued and guided itineraries will take place, therefore the training will include, also, the A2 level of English.
In these three cases, through the selection which the SOIB is already carrying out, the Town Hall will contract 30 youths and 10 professionals who will be the ones in charge of the training. This way, the pupils once finished the projects will achieve professional training degrees for the occupation, and possess a labour experience, both key aspects for their labour future.
With regards to the SOIB Local Corporations Programme (over 35 years old), the period for registrations which the SOIB carries out is still open. It is addressed to over 35-year-old job-seekers (giving priority to those people over 45 and 52 years old), who in a period of 18 months accredit 12 months of unemployment and that they are not receiving an economic compensation.
This programme includes 5 projects which the departments of Environment, Maintenance, Calvià 2000 and the IFOC will carry out, and will mean the contracting of 30 people (28 workers and 2 elementary education teachers), for a period of 6 months.
In this case, it is important to highlight that in the projects of Environment, Maintenance and IFOC, a training programme of 400 hours (given in working days) will be started up exclusively for workers with no secondary studies, which will alternate the acquisition of key competences (basic for their access to studies or training in which they will be required the ESO degree), with the promotion of the self employment and the gender equality.
On the other hand, the Calvià Town Hall, through the IFOC, has also been allocated with 5 training projects subsidised by the Regional Ministry for Education and the SOIB, respectively.
In the first case, it is about 2 programmes of elementary professional training, one of them, related to Commerce Activities, it is to be highlighted that the period for registrations is still open. In the second case, it is about three courses addressed to vulnerable collectives, subsidised by the SOIB related to tourist and environment activities, and to which they can also registrate through the SOIB's labour adviser. The municipal information centre is centralised for both cases in the IFOC.
