Calvià 2000 is searching for new collectors for the clothing collection service after the unilateral decision taken by 'Recuperalia' to remove the containers.
Fundació Deixalles provides a temporary container for clothing so the collecting can continue.
Calvià 2000 is working to find new suppliers to collect used clothing after the company that has so far offered this service in the municipality, Recuperalia, has decided unilaterally, and alleging economic reasons, to remove the containers. This situation also affects other municipalities throughout the island.
Since the municipal public company received the communication on the 18th December, it has initiated contacts with new suppliers in order to restore the service mid-January.
However, to continue offering the used clothes collection service, and not leave the municipality without this benefit during the holidays, Fundació Deixalles has provided a temporary container to be located in the Deixalleria de Calvià at the Polígon Son Bugadelles. The facilities will be open from Monday to Sunday from 8 am to 3 pm, except on the 25th of December and the 1st and the 6th January. The telephone number is: 971 69 79 79.
The City Council of Calvia and Calvia 2000 are sorry for the inconveniences this situation may cause citizens during this temporary situation. Calvià is not the only municipality that has to go thought this situation, since other entities that work collecting used clothing have container supply problems due to requests from the affected municipalities.
