We can not get used to this news.
We do not want them to be simple numbers.
They are stolen lives on the mere fact of being women!
-Mariana, Madrid, 43 years old, he strangled her on 4th January.
-Silvia, Guadalajara, 33 years old, he stabbed her on 5th January. She leaves a two-year-old daughter.
-M.G.P., Badajoz, 19 years old, she was found floating in a reservoir on 7th January. She leaves a one-year-old boy. Her ex-partner had a restraining order.
-Lucinda, Tarragona, 43 years old, he shot her in the street on 13th January.
-María, Valencia, 73 years old, he beated her and cut her throat on the 22nd January.
-Lisa Jane, Calvià, 49 years old, he strangled her on 23rd January.
-Alicia, Vitoria, 17 months old, he threw his partner's daughter out the window, on 26th January.
-Ascensión, Avilés 46 years old, he beated her to death, on 27th January.
- Ana, Lugo, 40 years old, he shot her. The murderer is already in prison. Her two children aged 16 and 17 were present.
Let's reflect on what each of us do from our daily lives. What do we feel when we read or hear this news. What can we do from our environment to prevent violence. Only sexist roles will change if we learn to live in equality.
Ana was killed yesterday. Let's all shout loudly: ENOUGH!
