The Town Hall met with Endesa for the signing of a future agreement in order to avoid power cuts to the most vulnerable families
CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL SHORTLY SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO AVOID POWER CUTS TO THE MOST VULNERABLE FAMILIES
The responsibles for the area of Social Welfare have met today with representatives of Endesa in the islands
The Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, and the Councillor for Social Welfare and Senior Citizens, Mayte Albertí, have met with responsibles of Endesa to progress towards the eradication of energy poverty in the municipality of Calvià.
At the meeting, which was also attended by the Director General of Social Development and Equity, Ana Pérez, it has been agreed the future signing of a collaboration agreement in which will be specified the mediation between the Town Hall and the electrical company to avoid electricity supply cuts to vulnerable families.
This is one of the commitments acquired in the investiture agreement which has as an undeniable objective to provide immediate answers to high risk social situations under the priniciple "Calvià, zero poverty".
What is pursued with this agreement is to avoid that vulnerable families are subject to power outages because they can not afford to pay the bills.
On behalf of Endesa, the meeting was attended by the head of the Business Cycle of Endesa in the Balearic Islands, Francisco Juan Castello, and the responsible for Institutional Relations of the company in the islands, Julie Salgado.
