CALVIÀ TOWN HALL HAS OPENED PUNITIVE RECORDS WITHIN THE FRAME OF THE CAMPAIGN AGAINST ILLEGAL DUMPING IN PUBLIC SPACES
Penalties can reach 301,000 euros in case of very serious infringements
During the month of February, 42 cases of abandonment of waste in roads and public spaces have been detected, which have been removed in a period inferior to 24 hours. Fruit of the investigation, the Local Police has been able to clarify the authorship of the 21% of the cases detected and have been initiated the corresponding sanction records.
Calvià Town Hall launched a campaign to detect breaches of the municipal bylaw for the collection of municipal waste and cleaning of public spaces which started at the beginning of February.
In the campaign of detection and investigation of offences are participating actively and coordinated the staff of the Local Police, Calvià 2000 and the Department of Environment.
With these actions, the council aims to prevent uncivil behaviour, improve the health standards of public areas and improve the quality of life of citizens and visitors of the municipality.
In these cases, breaches are classified as serious and very serious, therefore authors can be imputed with sanctions that rise from 901 to 45,000 € in the case of serious, and from 45,000 to 301,000 € in case of very serious infringements.
