Calvià has presented today its offer for sports tourism, and the municipal delegation has met with executives of different tourism companies
Calvià has presented today Thursday its offer for sports tourism at the Turespaña stand of the ITB tourist fair in Berlin. With the aim of offering a deseasonalising product, it has been presented the wide sports offer of the municipality along with the main events scheduled for 2016. The good weather conditions of the island, along with the many facilities of the municipality and an excellent natural environment are the best proposal for those athletes willing to perform preparatory trainings for competitions, rest practicing their favourite sport, or just improve their physical conditions.
In addition to the presentation of the sports offer, the municipal Tourism team has had several meetings at the fair. The Deputy Mayor for Tourism, Antonio García Moles, Councillor for the area of Peguera, Juan Cuadros, and the director general of Tourism, Jaume Nadal, met with the director of TUI, Stefan Baumert, and the Thomas Cook's hiring manager, Hans Müller, whom informed that they expect an excellent tourist season for Mallorca and Calvià in 2016. They enhanced the great effort which is being undertaken in matters of the renewal and the improvement of the infrastructures in the municipality, as well as they have highlighted the importance of supporting the sports tourism of cycling, football or golf as activities to lengthen the tourist season. Müller noted the security as a key factor for the islands as it is, in many cases, a decisive element by families when booking their holidays.
