At the meeting, it has been highlighted the collaboration that the Local Police of Calvià and the Civil Guard undertake in the municipality throughout the year, to ensure the safety of such an important municipality as Calvià not only for its number of residents but also for the large increase of population that represents the arrival of tourists, especially, in the summer months, which means a considerable effort to meet the existing demand, as demonstrate the crime rates that have been put on the table, which show that one more year have gone down.
In this sense, the Calvià Town Hall ensures that this summer will again make the important effort of increasing the police presence in nightlife areas, as well as in other areas of the municipality, and has appreciated the request made by the Regional Government's Delegate to the Ministry of the Interior for the arrival of reinforcements of the Civil Guard in regards to the summer operation and that these reinforcements stay longer because of the prolongation of the tourist season, as it is an approach that from the Town Hall is considered essential.
