The Mayor of Calvià and the Director of the SOIB present the new projects of Youth Guarantee and the programme Visibles of the SOIB that will allow the recruitment of 36 people.

THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ AND THE DIRECTOR OF THE SOIB PRESENT THE NEW YOUTH GUARANTEE PROJECTS 2016 AND THE PROGRAMME VISIBLES OF THE SOIB THAT WILL ALLOW THE CONTRACTING OF 36 PEOPLE


The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Director of the SOIB, Pere Torrens, have presented the Youth Guarantee project and the Programme Visibles of the SOIB. Since last November a total of 36 people, young people under 30 years old, long-term unemployed and management professionals participate in the implementation of programmes of general and diverse social interest, in the municipality of Calvià.



The presentation event was attended by the Deputy Mayor for Economy, Occupation and Innovation, M. Carmen Iglesias, and the IFOC's manager, Darío Espallargas, as well as members of the Municipal Corporation and responsibles for the areas that collaborate with the programmes.


YOUTH GUARANTEE 2016: Last Wednesday 2
nd November, the programme called RUTAS DE CALVIÀ II was started at the IFOC. It has a financing of the SOIB of € 227.131,87, is promoted by the Department of Environment and the IFOC, and combines work (through a 12-month training contract) and training.


It is a project that will allow 10 young people under the age of 30, job seekers and registered to the National Platform of Youth Guarantee, to obtain two professionalism certificates: "Guide for low and medium mountain routes" and "Educational free time activities for children and youth". Also, a team of 4 professionals has been hired, which, in addition to the teaching and management of these specialties, will offer a path of individual insertion, continuous tutoring and transversal training in areas such as: Job insertion and job search techniques, Equal opportunities between men and women, Computer literacy and Environmental awareness.



With this one, 4 are the projects incorporated this year that are already being developed in Calvià Town Hall, with these same characteristics and sources of funding, and all of them focus on the improvement and rehabilitation of Galatzó, true green lung and area of special environmental tourist, cultural and sports appeal in the municipality.



Thus, as balance 2016, the impact of these programmes in Calvià is as follows: 4 projects developed; Rutas de Calvià, Bosc de Sa Madona, Puig del Senyor and Rutas de Calvià II, with a total of 1.012.217,80 € of external financing and a total of 50 people contracted, between student-workers and managers, teachers and support staff.


PROGRAMME VISIBLES: As of 16
th November, the Calvià Town Hall has hired during six months, 21 full-time workers over 35 years old and a part-time counselor to support the project.

This programme has a total cost of € 419.977,70, of which € 235.800 come from the participation of the Servei d'Ocupació de les Illes Balears (SOIB) and the co-financing of the State Public Occupation Service (SEPE) and the Social Fund (FSE) and the rest, € 184.177,70 correspond to municipal funding.


This action makes it easier for local entities (including their municipal companies and autonomous bodies) to hire workers over 35 years of age (prioritising those over 45 years old who have been unemployed for at least 12 months, within the last 18 months, and who preferably do not get any benefit or subsidy.


The actions recently approved by the SOIB are organised into 3 projects:


CALVIÀ 2000: IMAGE ADAPTATION IN BINS AND CONTAINERS OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF CALVIÀ: It is a project based on the public awareness in the matters of the correct management of residues in the public way.


LLAR DE MAJORS DE CALVIÀ (SENIOR CITIZENS' HOME OF CALVIÀ): MAINTENANCE AND IMPROVEMENT ACTIONS IN LA LLAR DE MAJORS DE CALVIÀ BUILDING : This initiative reflects the intention of its management team to invest decisively in the improvement and revaluation of this public space.


CALVIÀ TOWN HALL: Presents, through the IFOC, a global project called CALVIÀ INTEGRA, in which several municipal departments are integrated:


MAINTENANCE: Renovation and extension of the gardened areas of the Passeig de Calvià (Promenade).

Maintenance of municipal pre-school and primary education centres and nurseries, in collaboration with the IMEB.



CULTURE: Maintenance and improvement of scenic spaces and municipal cultural centres.


NATURAL AND URBAN ENVIRONMENT: Maintenance and improvement of the public estate of Galatzó.


CALVIÀ SPORTS INSTITUTE: Maintenance of the gardened areas of the municipal sports facilities.


YOUTH: Improvement and maintenance of the youth equipment "Es Generador".

IFOC: Improvement of vocational training centres for the employment of Calvià.



Finally highlight the involvement of the SOCIAL SERVICES' department in the tasks of information and referral of people with social vulnerability of the municipality so they can participate in these programmes.


Also, regarding the balance 2016, the impact of these programmes in Calvià, is as follows: 8 projects developed. € 692.047,26 of SOIB financing. 52 people hired.


When all these projects are completed, the IFOC will make available the necessary resources to promote the occupancy of these workers, including the Municipal Employment Agency and the Advice, Entrepreneur and Training Services.
