PRESENTED THE BOOK 'LA PREMSA FORANA A CALVIÀ'
The Mayor has presented the work in the library of Santa Ponça
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, have presented the book 'La premsa forana a Calvià', third volume of the collection 'Memòria de Calvià', dedicated on this occasion to the local press. The collection aims to recover and preserve various aspects of the 'Calvian' world. The first two publications of the series have been 'Galatzó, temps i feines' and 'La història del futbol a la vila de Calvià'. The book presentation event has taken place in the library of Santa Ponça.
As in the previous works, a reminder analysis of a specific topic at local level, in this case the press, has been carried out. The book contains an introductory study, an in-depth article written by the representatives of each magazine and a series of interviews with people who lived the facts subject of study. Accompanies the edition a DVD that summarizes the meeting with the people who were interviewed in Can Verger last September to carry out this work.
The magazines included in the book are: Voramar (1973-79); Veïnats (1982-89), Maganova (it started in 1985 and continues in edition); L'Olla (1996-97); La Veu, 1982-2001; Entre tots, 1988.99, and L'Estaló, 2009-2010. Although there has been a large number of publications, these seven have been selected because they are the ones that have had a more continuous journey.
