The Town Hall starts a bonus system to prevent the abandonment of schooling from 0 to 3 years in the winter months, due to the unemployment of one of the parents

THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL WILL LAUNCH A BONUS SYSTEM TO AVOID THE ABANDONMENT OF SCHOOLING FROM 0 TO 3 YEARS IN THE WINTER MONTHS

The Calvià Town Hall will launch a bonus system for the municipal Escoletes (nurseries) with the aim that the socioeconomic situation that a family can suffer in the off-season does not suppose the abandonment of the schooling of children under 0 to 3 years.
The Town Hall has detected that some families find it difficult to maintain the continuity of their children in the nurseries, especially in the low season, in an eminently tourist municipality like Calvià, as one or two members of the family may become in situation of unemployment.
The first cycle of pre-school education, from 0 to 3 years, although it is not a compulsory schooling stage, it is a commitment of the Town Hall because it is considered as a fully educational stage and with an Educational Project in each of the 10 municipal centres (PEC).
Currently, there is a subsidy that is applied based on the family income to the aprox. 500 students that the 10 public nurseries of the municipality have. What will now be launched is a bonus on this subsidy that will be 15 or 30% depending on the fee they pay. The bonus will be applied, this 2017, to the months of February and March and November and December, and, this time, will be made effective at the end of March when the documentation has been processed.
Families will only have to submit, along with the application, the SOIB card since the rest of the documentation is already delivered at the time of enrollment, in order to do the assessment.
For the bonuses of this 2017 the Town Hall has allocated an amount of 50,000 euros.
