STUDENTS OF THE VOCATIONAL INTERNSHIP PILOT PROJECT RECEIVE THEIR CERTIFICATES
The objective of the new project is the professional orientation and the obtaining of information on different professions, as well as to enable the students to design their own academic and professional itinerary
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, and the Deputy Mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, have presented the certificates of the pilot project of Vocational Internship to the students who have participated in the initiative.
Vocational Internship is a project that has been managed by the IMEB (Municipal Institute of Education and Libraries of Calvià) through the CUC (Universtiy Centre of Calvià) and is proposed as a vocational guidance tool. This initiative has consisted mainly of offering students in year 4 of ESO (Obligatory Secondary Education) the possibility to live a real experience in the labour world together with professionals from different fields, and provide the students with the support that is necessary so that they can clarify their interests, possibilities and vocational choice.
The objective of the project is the professional orientation and the obtaining of information on different professions, as well as to train them to design their own academic and professional itinerary that facilitates them, not only the immediate decision on their alternatives for the next year, but also, the formulation of a medium- and long-term project.
A total of 7 students have participated in the Vocational Internship, proposed by the IES of Calvià, who did their internship during a few days in the last Christmas holidays. The pilot project has had the collaboration of private companies and municipal departments. It is planned to repeat the experience during the upcoming Easter holidays and to extend the participation to students of first year of Baccalaureate is under study.
You can listen to their experiences on the CUC's Youtube Channel.
