Calvià 3rd April 2017

THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL AND THE REGIONAL MINISTRY FOR EDUCATION WILL DECIDE THIS MONDAY THE INTERVENTION NECESSARY TO RESPOND TO A CRACK APPEARED IN THE OVERHANG OF THE CEIP GALATZÓ LIBRARY

The Calvià Town Hall and the Regional Ministry for Education and University will hold a visit and a technical meeting, between architects of both administrations, this forthcoming Monday to evaluate and indicate the interventions that are necessary to respond to a crack that appeared in the CEIP Galatzó (Pre-education and Primary education school) of Es Capdellà.

The crack appeared in the cantilever that corresponds to the library of the centre, and last week several witnesses were placed to follow the evolution. On Friday 31
st March, after inspecting these witnesses, it was observed that two of them had been cracked.

The Ibisec (Conselleria d'Educació-Regional Ministry for Education) was informed straightaway as it is the responsible for the conservation of the CEIP structure, so that it can carry out the relevant studies and checks and take the necessary measures.

As preventive measures and following the instructions of the municipal architect, the Town Hall will place pillars in the affected area. In addition, all accesses have been fenced off, ensuring that the CEIP activities can be developed with total normality.
