The International Festival will have as headliners the groups Placebo, Lori Mayers, Chambao and Amaral
Mallorca Live, which will be held on 12th and 13th May in Calvià, is set to become one of the most important festivals of the spring of southern Europe, and consolidates its international projection with a series of complementary actions, including the presentation event in the English capital that was held yesterday afternoon with the presence of the Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, the Deputy Mayor responsible for Culture, Nati Francés, the Festival's Event Manager, Matu Mulville, the Artistic Director, Sebastián Vera, and the Marketing Director of Sol House, Sara Matarrubia.
After the presentation, a performance was offered before more than a thousand people as an advance of the festival, with two of the headline groups: Chambao and Lori Meyers
The group Lori Meyers has just released "En la espiral", an album that has reached number 1 sales in Spain, and which will offer the opportunity to enjoy in a small set with acoustic repertoire specially prepared for the occasion. The event will also mean Chambao's expected return to the British Isles to present their recent album, "Nuevo ciclo", a work produced by Eduardo Cabra de Calle 13, and which has been nominated for the Latin Grammy Awards 2016. In it, energy Flamenco has been boosted by the presence of new Latin rhythms, which yesterday filled the Brixton room in its most electric format to anticipate what will be the concert of the singers from Malaga in Mallorca Live.
With the celebration of the Mallorca Live Festival, Calvià will become during two days the capital of international music. An event that the Town Hall envisages within its strategic lines of action to promote the municipality as a destination with the attractiveness of cultural tourism to contribute to the season's lengthening. The international musical festivals have become an important cultural and economic development force in each locality in which they are organised.
