Hotel maids come to the Town Hall to explain the health problems arising from their working conditions and to present more than 20,000 signatures to request the regulation of the workload

THE MAYOR OF CALVIÀ RECEIVED YESTERDAY A GROUP OF HOTEL MAIDS WHO PRESENTED HIM 20,000 SIGNATURES TO CLAIM THE REGULATION OF THE WORKLOAD AND THE EARLY RETIREMENT
-The Mayor has committed to present the signatures collected in the municipality of Calvià to the Government's Delegate
The Mayor of Calvià, Alfonso Rodríguez Badal, received yesterday a group of hotel maids who presented him 20,000 signatures to claim the Government and the employers the regulation of the workload to a maximum of rooms through the Health Committees and Prevention delegates, and the possibility of an exceptional retirement due to physical exhaustion at the age of 60.
Two representatives of the more than one hundred hotel maids who came to the consistory, Nati Cano and Mercedes Sánchez, explained the Mayor the health problems derived from the working conditions of their jobs.
The Mayor is committed to present the signatures collected in the municipality of Calvià to the Government's Delegate, as the competent authority, to convey the claims of the workers.
The Calvià Town Hall stands in solidarity with the hotel maids, understanding that the claims they make are fair and respond to the right of workers to exercise their work with dignity and due recognition.
