THE 'MALLORCA FOOTBALL TOURNAMENTS' EVENT BEGINS IN SANTA PONÇA
The 'Mallorca Football Tournaments 2017' event begins in Santa Ponça with a new de-seasonalising sports activity for beach football teams called 'Beach Soccer Tournament'. The beach football tournament is the main novelty in the 'Mallorca Football Tournaments' event, which maintains the two modalities of previous years, one open to all types of amateur teams, and another for police forces' officers, firefighters, armed forces, customs, ministries and municipalities, to be held at the facilities of the Municipal Sports Centre of Santa Ponça.
The modality for officials is played between 11th and 15th May, and the amateur teams until 22nd May. While the beach football will be played from 18th to 22nd May. All players are allowed a free day in the tournament to be able to dedicate it to know the place and the island. Between participants and accompanying people come to Calvià about 2,300 people from 32 different nationalities with an average stay of six days.
