THE CALVIÀ TOWN HALL CREATES THE LOCAL BOARD OF INFANCY AND ADOLESCENCE WITH THE PARTICIPATION OF ALL POLITICAL GROUPS AND TWELVE MUNICIPAL DEPARTMENTS
-The initiative is framed within the work of Calvià Town Hall to obtain the seal Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia, an emblem awarded by UNICEF Comité Español
The Calvià Town Hall has created the Local Board of Infancy and Adolescence with the participation of all political groups and twelve municipal departments under the chairmanship of the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés. It is outlined as a workspace with 14 professionals for the prevention, detection and care of the infancy from 0 to 18 years old.
The functions of the round-table have been explained and an operating regulation has been proposed at the board-establishment session. In a first phase, it is planned to prepare a report of actions and a diagnostic report on the children of the municipality and on the basis of these documents a Plan for Children and Adolescents will be designed. In a second stage, the Plan will be implemented and the different actions will be monitored, establishing detection systems to respond to new needs that may arise.
This initiative, approved unanimously in the plenary session of April, is framed within the work of the Calvià Town hall to obtain the seal Ciudad Amiga de la Infancia, an emblem awarded by UNICEF Comité Español to local governments for the work they do in favour of the rights of children and adolescents. The seal promotes and generates real mechanisms of child participation and has a long-term strategy to incorporate children and adolescents in the policies and actions of local actors.
