CALVIÀ COMMEMORATES THE INTERNATIONAL DAY AGAINST VIOLENCE TOWARDS WOMEN WITH A PHOTO COMPETITION IN WHICH THE CITIZEN INVOLVEMENT AND AWARENESS RAISING IS SEARCHED
On the occasion of the International Day Against Violence Towards Women 2017, the Calvià Town Hall has called a contest that under the motto "No ho permetis" ("Do not allow it") has three objectives: make visible the daily struggle of women against the sexist violence, raise awareness amongst the citizens and stimulate the artistic creation of the citizenship of the municipality promoting the feminine empowerment.
Until 27th November, all those people willing to compete may submit their proposals through the social network Instagram, including the tags #nohopermetis #calviadiuno. All those people over 14 years old can participate.
The images must reflect, in an original and creative way, the types of violence suffered by women in their day to day life, and will be valued those showing sexism, violation of rights, micromachismos, sexist aggressions at parties, etc., that are lived in our society that has the responsibility of not allowing these aggressions.
The prizes for the winning photo and the finalist, chosen by a jury, will be presented on 1st December at the IES Bendinat auditorium. The prize consists of 300 euros for the winner and 100 euros for the finalist. The 10 photographs chosen by the jury, together with the winner and the finalist, will be exhibited in activities organised by the Ajuntament de Calvià.
