TRAINING DAYS FOR BEACH LIFEGUARDS

They will take place on 2
nd , 3rd and 4th May at the Sala Palmanova

Civil Protection and Emergencies of Calvià organise, one more year, the training days for the lifeguards who will render their services on the beaches of the municipality, and which will take place on 2
nd , 3rd and 4th May at the Sala Palmanova.

The objective of these days is to train and inform all the lifeguards, beach concessionaires and personnel of the facilities near the beaches on the specific regulations under which they have to act.

Thus, they will receive theoretical and practical training regarding the Calvià Rescue Plan, health protocols, communication protocols with the 112 and the Civil Protection communications room, first aid updates, practice planning and simulations to be carried out during the season, internal protocols and on specific matters such as the presence of jellyfish, etc.

Calvià has surveillance in 21 of its beaches and 50 lifeguards that ensure the safety of people who come to the coast during the beach season, and after hours the beaches have reactive lifeguards. In addition, the Town Hall hires every year a rescue and lifeguard company to provide 2 skippers and 2 lifeguards for the surveillance of the entire coastline, and who act on preventive issues, sea rescues, pollution and environment, simulations and beach support.
