FIBWI WILL BROADCAST THE INTERNATIONAL TRIATHLON 'CHALLENGE PEGUERA MALLORCA'

The telecommunications company will offer the race on streaming via Facebook Live and on television via DTT and satellite

Challenge Peguera Mallorca will count this year with the participation of 1200 athletes in the main event.

Fundación Calvià 2004 and Fibwi have signed a collaboration agreement whereby the telecommunications company will carry out the live broadcast of the international middle distance triathlon Challenge Peguera Mallorca on Saturday 20
th October 2018.

In order to project the image of the event and the municipality beyond the participants and attendants who may be in Calvià, from the organisation of Challenge Peguera Mallorca, the agreement reached with Fibwi is considered strategic. The Mallorcan operator will carry out the broadcasting of the race on streaming via Facebook Live, by DTT in Spain and by satellite at the international level. The broadcast in different ways, will allow a follow-up in real time and with images of the event from practically all corners of the world with interest in the triathlon or in the participants taking part this year.

Amongst the broadcast details that are known, it is to be highlighted the wide deployment of services that FIBWI will make available to the race. The most outstanding, the creation of a broadcasting set and interviews at the finish line, the narration of the race, the installation of cameras in the swimming and running circuits, the creation of summary videos or the installation of a giant screen in the finish area in order to reproduce the online broadcast.

This agreement is another example of the growth of the event, which in the last three years has gone from 850 athletes in 2016 to 1200 in 2018, consolidating itself as one of the reference events at the end of the international triathlon season. Since the beginning of Challenge Peguera Mallorca, the organisation has worked on the same premise, offering an international triathlon event of the highest quality that year after year grows responsibly in the number of participants, ensuring at all times the quality standards that have made it successful.

Athletes of 37 different nationalities will be present in Challenge Peguera Mallorca, as well as a large cast of professional triathletes, so it is expected that the broadcast of the event will reach an international impact.

The Calvià Town Hall and Fundación Calvià 2004 envisage, within their strategic lines of action, the development of Challenge Peguera Mallorca as a tourism-sports event offer that contributes efficiently to the tourist seasonality. The organisation expects the presence of more than two thousand people, including participants and companions, during the week of the event, so it is expected that the economic impact associated with the event this year will be over two million euros.
