GATHERING IN REJECTION OF GENDER VIOLENCE AND REMEMBRANCE OF MURDERED WOMEN
The act of rejection, desire and remembrance of the women murdered by their partners or ex-partners has been carried out this morning, at 11 o'clock, at the CEPA (Adult Education Centre) of Magaluf.
Under the motto 'Calvià diu NO a la violència de gènere', a gathering is organised (usually the first Tuesday of each month) at the Town Hall entrance or at different points of the municipality, with the participation, mainly, of education centres.
Today's event, which, as usual, has had the presence of Mayor Alfonso Rodríguez Badal and members of the government team and the municipal Corporation, the deputy mayor for Social Cohesion and Equality, Nati Francés, has appealed to the people who have gathered today to put themselves on the side of equality and the fight against sexist violence.
The event has ended with the reading, by young people, of different phrases and the names of the women murdered this year.
