Until 7th November, applications can be submitted to access the ordinary annual housing rental aid that starts with an initial budget of 716,000 euros. However, this initial item could even be increased, if the number of requests that meet the requirements exceeds the amount, since Calvià Town Hall treats this type of aid as a right of citizens, so that all family units who meet the requirements get the aid.
The amount of aid granted is up to 40% of the annual income that must be paid for the rental of the habitual and permanent residence, with a maximum limit of 3,960 euros per year (330 euros per month) per family unit, and granted, if the requirements are met, for a maximum period of 12 months, from 1st September 2022 to 31st August 2023.
The rent of the dwelling object of the contract will be equal to or less than 900 euros per month. People whose income from the cohabitation unit, during the year 2021, does not exceed 1,700 euros per month or 24,318.84 euros per year can opt. In the case of large families in the general category or single-parent families that do not exceed 32,425.12 euros per year, and in the case of large families in the special category or people with an intellectual disability of 33% or a physical disability of 65%, they must have had annual income of less than 40,531.40 euros.
Calvià Town Hall launched these annual grants in 2017, and since then the budget item has increased exponentially, multiplying almost by 15, going from 50,000 euros in the 2017 budget to 716,000 euros in 2022.
In the years 2020 and 2021, in addition to the annual aid, the extraordinary Covid aid was called, which had a budget of 400,000 euros, and which was intended for family units with problems paying the rent due to supervening causes by Covid -19 and that they found themselves in situations of unemployment, in an ERTE process, with a reduction in income or with the activity suspended, or in a situation of being a woman victim of gender violence.
