Results of the survey regarding the construction of subsidised housing in Calvià vila and es Capdellà
January was the deadline for residents of Calvia Town and es Capdellà to express their opinion regarding the constuction of subsidised housing in both areas of the municipality. As promised by Mayor Carlos Delgado before the last local elections, if he was elected Mayor again, he would respect the opinion of the residents in order to assure a general consensus in this issue which affects all concerned.
The survey and questionnaire has produced the following results;
In Calvià vila:
231 votes received:
121 voted against
109 voted in favour of.
1 voted neutral
In es Capdellà:
273 votes received,
203 voted against
69 voted in favour of
1 voted neutral.
The Mayor of Calvia will respect the wishes of the residents of Calvia and Capdella by not building subsidised housing in these two areas. It should be noted that the Local Government team have kept their pre electoral promise and will take this building project forward in another area of the Municipality of Calvia.
