The Q quality touristic for Palmira beach.

Palmira beach has been presented with the new Q for quality touristic award conceded by the Ministry of Tourism via the Spanish Institute of Quality in Tourism (ITCE).

As in previous years 2006 was the first time that this bi-annual award was given. Palmira beach has made this achievement having exceeded the demanding requirements stipulated by the ITCE, the official body that also monitors quality of water, and all corresponding resort facilities.

Palmira beach is the focal point of Paguera, and enjoys easy access for all users specially for the less able bodied. There are sunbeds and parasols all in good condition, showers and public toilets, lifeguard monitoring, signage and information, services etc.

In addition, Calvià Town Hall carried out a survey to users in order to establish satisfaction levels, the results of which were forwarded to the Spanish Institute of Quality in Tourism together with the results of water and beach quality testing which had been carried out there..

Deputy Mayor for the coastline Litoral, Bartolomé Bonafé, collected the prestigious award during a ceremony held in Madrid. Palmira and Palmanova beaches are the only two beaches in the Balearic community to have made this impressive achievement.
