The new Son Ferrer indoor swimming pool which is situated just next to the football ground and which will allow neighbours of Son Ferrer to go swimming without having to travel to other areas of the municipality, has now opened its doors. As from last Monday March 3rd it is open to the public.
The pool comprises 6 swimming lanes and is 20 metres long. There are two changing rooms plus a disabled one. There is a multi-use room and outdoor parking for 22 vehicles. The maximum capacity for swimmers is 125 . The complex covers a ground space of 4.000 m2 e and forms part of the project Calvià al día, the investment so far is 964.080 euros.
With this new facility up and running neighbours of Son ferrer can enjoy activities which to date have been taking place in other municipal areas such as in del Palau d'Esports at Calvià Town and the swimming pool at Bendinat. The pool will be open mornings and afternoons and activities will include swimming lessons for children over 2 years old and an adult programme of aqua-fitness and aqua-gym including for the elderley.. A baby swimming group will be set up for babies between 6 and 24 months.
Membership for the pool or day passes come under the same system as for other Municipal sports facilities. The same tariffs and terms and conditions apply.
