A total of 24 children participate in the Campament de Pasqua at the Galatzó public estate.

  • The Town Hall repeats proposal for this summer with four camps for children and young people aged 9 to 16 with a total of 176 places available

Calvià Town Hall has organised a Campament de Pasqua (Easter Camp) for children aged 9 to 13 at the Galatzó public estate during these festive seasons. The activity, in which 24 children participated, has contributed to facilitate family conciliation during the non-school period after Easter, offering participants the opportunity to combine leisure, learning and nature in a privileged environment.

Following the success of last year when 139 children and young people were able to enjoy the summer camps experience, this year the council will once again offer the opportunity to 176 children and young people aged 9 to 16 to participate in a new edition. With all kinds of activities, workshops and games, these camps promise to be the adventure of the summer for them once again.

Like last summer, the Town Hall offers two options, depending on the age. In Summer Es Galatzó, for three weeks, children aged 9 to 13 will have access to a multitude of activities and moments of conviviality at the municipal public estate, where they can socialise, develop skills and enjoy nature. The other option is Comte Mal Es Galatzó, a week for teenagers aged 13 to 16 with guaranteed adventure and fun and activities such as camping under the stars or excursions in the mountains and to the beach.

The camps at the Galatzó public estate have several objectives, such as facilitating the reconciliation of work and family life through a resource that combines leisure activities, free time and training in an environment different from the usual; promoting the comprehensive development of participants through physical-sports, artistic, manual and recreational activities that promote creativity and personal autonomy; promote values such as mutual respect, coexistence, cooperation, and teamwork, fostering interpersonal relationships between children and young people from different backgrounds; and promote environmental education and ecological awareness through outdoor activities in contact with nature.

The Mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual, noted that "these camps allow children and young people, taking advantage of the facilities at the Galatzó refuge, to spend a few days disconnecting from screens and digital devices in a natural setting in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana mountains and in contact with nature."

The dates are scheduled weekly, from late June to late July, with a schedule that runs from Sunday afternoon to Friday afternoon. The participation fee is 379 €, with a reduced price of 189,50 € for Calvià residents registered before 1st January 2025. Additional discounts are available for large and single-parent families.

A detailed list of materials required for each age group is provided, as well as a list of items not required, such as money, food, cell phones, or other electronic devices.
