Calvià Town Hall, through the Department of Mobility and Transport, has announced a new exam for the recognition of the professional competence necessary to obtain the administrative title that enables the exercise of the taxi driver activity. Those people who, on the date of the exam, have the permit that enables them to drive public service vehicles with less than 9 seats, as well as a compulsory secondary education certificate (ESO) or equivalent, will be able to take this exam. In addition, it is a requirement to have Spanish nationality or that of a foreign country with which, by virtue of the International Treaties or Conventions signed by Spain, this requirement is not required. Candidates who pass the exam may practice their profession exclusively in the municipality of Calvià.
Applications must be submitted to the General Registry of the Town Hall electronically or in person, from 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. or to the offices and means referred to in art. 16.4 of Law 39/2015 of 1st October, on the common administrative procedure of public administrations, from 22nd January to 3rd February 2025, both inclusive.
This call as well as the provisional and definitive lists will be published on the municipal notice board and on Calvià Town Hall's website. The provisional list of those admitted will be published on 10th February 2025; there will be a period of 3 working days for corrections and the final list of those admitted will be published on 17th February 2025. The publication of the provisional lists with the results obtained will take place on 3rd March 2025, with a period of three working days for possible claims. The publication of the final lists of those approved candidates will be on 11th March 2025.
The exam will take place on Friday 21st February 2025, at 9 a.m., at the Casal de Peguera and will consist of five parts or subjects, all of them eliminatory, with an assessment of 0 to 10 points in each of them. The duration of the exam will be forty minutes:
a) Knowledge of the Municipality of Calvià.
b) Geography of the island of Mallorca, especially from the tourist information point.
d) Knowledge of the regulations governing the provision of taxi transport services.
e) Basic knowledge, at conversational level, of: Catalan, English and German.
When submitting the application to take the exam, the following documentation must be provided:
DNI, NIE and/or Passport
Permit enabling the driving of vehicles with a minimum antiquity of 2 years.
Compulsory Secondary Education Certificate or equivalent, officially approved by the Ministry of Education.
Proof of having paid the fee for the examination rights to obtain a municipal driver's license for an auto-taxi (6,00€)
