Calvià is committed to conciliation with the first Pasqua Galatzó (Easter) camp for 44 children aged 9 to 13.

  • It coincides with the non-school period after Easter
  • It is the first time that it has been held in the municipality thus expanding the summer camps offer

Calvià is launching an Easter camp for the first time to concile work and family life. 44 children aged between 9 and 13 will enjoy a stay at the Galatzó public estate refuge from Monday 21st to Saturday 26th April, coinciding with the non-school period after Easter. This is a camp subsidised by the Town Hall and organised through the Culture and Youth department.

An information meeting for all those interested families will be held at Es Generador building in Son Caliu on Thursday 13th at 5 p.m. The registration period will be open from 7th to 23rd March and the specific programming proposal will be presented between 7th and 23rd March. From 1st to 5th April, enrollments for registered minors will be formalised.

The Pasqua Galatzó 2025 camp is based on four essential objectives:

  • Facilitate conciliation of work and family life through a resource that combines leisure, free time and training activities in a different environment than usual.
  • Promote the comprehensive development of participants through physical-sports, artistic, manual and recreational activities that promote creativity, imagination and personal autonomy.
  • Promote values such as mutual respect, coexistence, cooperation and teamwork, favouring interpersonal relationships between children and young people from different fields.
  • Promote environmental education and ecological awareness through outdoor activities in contact with nature, valuing the environment and reflecting on the impact of human actions on it.

The Pasqua Galatzó 2025 camp will take place on Es Galatzó public estate, located in the Natural Park of the Serra de Tramuntana, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 2011. It is a unique space that combines natural, archaeological and architectural values, and since November 2022 it has a refuge managed by the Consell de Mallorca, with capacity for 52 beds, a bar-restaurant service and a multipurpose room. Meals, overnight stays and some camp activities are held in this refuge.

The camp increases the municipal offer of the summer camps, which were attended by 110 children last year and which will be repeated this year with four weekly editions.
