Calvià launches grants to businesses in the municipality for aesthetic and technological improvements.

  • 35.000 euros are allocated to subsidise up to 80% of the budgets presented
  • Establishments, hospitality and service companies in the local commercial fabric are eligible for these subsidies

Calvià Town Hall's Commerce area is finalising a subsidy plan worth 35.000 euros for aesthetic and technological improvements to establishments, hospitality and service companies in the municipality.

Up to 80% of the budgets dated between 1st January and 31st March will be financed. The maximum amounts eligible for subsidy are 9.000 euros for aesthetic improvements and 6.000 for technological improvements. Establishments of up to 150 useful square metres for public use are eligible for these subsidies. This initiative comes from the council's budget.

Benito Ferrer, councillor for Commerce, has pointed out that the subsidy plan "is part of our desire to support local commerce. It has always been assumed that it is exclusively touristic, when it also provides a service to all the citizens of the municipality. We know the effort of traders and businesspeople to stay open all year round, so from the Town Hall we want to do our bit by recognising their work and helping them in the maintenance and modernisation of their businesses, which are vital to the economic and social fabric of the municipality".

The deadlines for processing applications will be announced shortly. In this regard, bureaucratic procedures will be accelerated and simplified since applicants will be advised by the Commerce area itself.
