Calvià Local Police and Civil Guard reinforce and strengthen their collaboration in the fight against gender violence. The Town Hall and the armed institute have renewed the VioGen Protocol for collaboration and coordination between the State Security Forces and Corps and the Local Police corps, for the protection of gender violence victims. The document establishes the coordination criteria, highlighting the specialised training carried out by the specialists of the Equipo Mujer Mejor (Better Women Team) (EMUME) of the Civil Guard to local police officers in terms and procedures of gender violence.

The first deputy mayor and head of Security, Esperanza Catalá, has highlighted the close collaboration with the Civil Guard and the training that the police officers will receive and that "is part of the continuous training programmes in this and other fields to have the best personnel at the service of the citizen".

Catalá has insisted that "we are going to continue working with plainclothes police officers who provide personalised treatment and a comprehensive monitoring of the victims. In terms of security, gender violence is one of the Town Hall's priorities".

Calvià dedicates three Local Police officers to surveillance and monitoring tasks of gender violence victims in the municipality. The three police officers are dedicated exclusively to the task and act in plainclothes to preserve the privacy and anonymity of the women.
