- Work has been carried out on both, swimming pool and football field
Calvià Town Hall is working to improve the municipal sports facilities. The consistory has carried out a series of major improvements to the Peguera Municipal Sports Centre with the aim of modernising its facilities and ensuring their proper functioning. The actions, which have involved a significant investment, have taken place in the swimming pool and football field.
One of the most notable interventions has been the renovation of the swimming pool, which has represented an investment of 101.382,58€. The damaged tiling has been removed, all accessories replaced, and a PVC sheet installed. This work was necessary to solve the recurring problems of water loss due to the poor condition of the pool basin.
The football field has also undergone a significant renovation with several improvements:
- Replacement of the lighting system: New LED lights have been installed, a long-standing request from users due to constant breakdowns and the increasing difficulty in finding replacements for old lights. This improvement involved an investment of 42.021,61€.
- New irrigation system: After years of unsuccessful attempts to solve the field's irrigation problems, the decision was made to completely renew the system, including the pump unit, pipes, and nozzles. The investment for this item amounts to 55.851€.
- Installation of a new protective net in front of the bar, in response to a recurring complaint, at a cost of 3.400,21€.
- Replacement of the dehumidifier's pump motor, at a cost of 1.257€.
- Improvements to the stands, including the installation of new seats (2.178€) and the painting for the perimeter wall, (the paint has been handed over to the club and carried out by them).
This work is in addition to work already completed, which includes the creation of the Punta Nadala bio-health park in Palmanova, the launch of four new calisthenics parks in Son Ferrer, Calvià, Peguera, and Santa Ponça, the elimination of leaks in the Galatzó pavilion and the squash locker room area in Magaluf, the installation of new LED lighting on the Magaluf athletics track, improvements to the locker rooms at Es Mofarès football field in Calvià Village, the construction of a skate park in El Toro, and the implementation of a salt water electrolysis system in the Santa Ponça swimming pool.
In addition, other projects are underway, such as the installation of new LED lights at the Santa Ponça (F11 and F7-a-side football), Son Caliu (F7-a-side football), and Costa d'en Blanes Julián Ronda (F11) football fields, as well as at the Melani Costa pavilion. The projects have already been approved and are being scheduled.
