Peguera, a preferred German destination in Calvià, is modernised for the future.

  • Public space is gained with the Hostal Colón demolition, the boulevard is being renovated and the Torá beach pinewood area will be renaturalised
  • 80 per cent of tourists who come to Peguera are German

The data from the last two years consolidate the multi-market trend in the different areas of Calvià, although Peguera has been a preferred destination for German visitors for years. Around 80 per cent of tourists who come to the area are German. For this reason, Calvià Town Hall has shown the changes underway at the ITB to revitalise the area.

Public space will be gained with the demolition of the old Hostal Colón. Together with the Hotel Teix in Magaluf, these will be the first expansions in tourist areas of Calvià in a quarter of a century. The purchase of both establishments and their demolition is worth around 6 million euros - funds from the Town Hall, the Balearic institutions and Next Generation - and recovers a line of action that has been paralysed for decades in the municipality. The renaturalisation of the Torá beach pinewood area has a budget of 600.000 euros from Next Generation funds.

These actions are part of the municipal shock plan of 20 million euros - expandable as new works are tendered - for the modernisation and reform of tourist areas, roads and pavements. The plan will continue in its first phase until 2027. The Town Hall has highlighted the importance of these improvements for both, residents and maintaining the tourist quality of the destination.
