Once again this year, Santa Ponça will become the epicentre of Saint Patrick's Day celebrations this coming Sunday, 16th March, from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m., with a festive day full of color, music, and activities for the whole family.
Starting at ten in the morning, the Gran Vía Puig des Galatzó will host a varied entertainment programme offering a unique experience for residents and visitors. The event will feature a craft market with 45 stalls and 2 association tables, 8 food trucks and 5 food stalls, two parades - from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m.- and children's activities with free bouncy castles and face painting workshops in three turns (from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., and from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.).
Live music will be one of the main attractions of the event. At 12 noon, the Top Dance Academy will open the stage with the first performance. Starting at 1:30 p.m., DJ Jessica Ruloz will enliven the day, followed by live performances by The GreenTones at 5 p.m., Finnegans at 7 p.m., and Raggle Taggle at 8 p.m., who will close the celebration with their characteristic Irish folk style.
Amongst this year's novelties, several bagpipers will delight attendees with traditional Celtic music throughout the day. Also worth noting is the Irish folk rock band The GreenTones, which will arrive on the island to play in Calvià after performing at the Teatro Monumental in Madrid on Friday evening, 14th March.
The celebration of Saint Patrick, patron saint of Ireland, in Santa Ponça has established itself as one of the most anticipated events of the year for the Irish community residing in Calvià and the rest of the island. And although it's a typically Irish festival, more and more people of all nationalities participate to honour the tradition, culture, and festive spirit of Ireland.
The streets of Santa Ponça will be filled with Irish flags, shamrocks, and other symbols characteristic of this festivity.
