- 1.200 people will participate in the main race
- 250 children will participate in the children's race
- 18 local restaurants will participate in the Pasta Party
- A team of around 100 volunteers will complete the event's organisation
On Saturday, 5th April, the 9th edition of Half Marathon Magaluf will take place. The race will bring together 1.200 participants in its main distances (half marathon and 10 kilometres), the maximum allowed for this occasion.
The race is already one of the most popular in the Balearic Islands and bases its success on a wide range of services for athletes, as well as flat, fast, and approved courses. In recent years, the number of participants from outside the island has skyrocketed, and this year, the event will break a record, with nearly 60% of participants from outside Mallorca.
Registrations have sold out. It was established that by 2025, the maximum capacity for the main race would be 1.200 participants.
The circuits integrate the most prominent avenues and beach promenades of Magaluf and Palmanova. They are urban, with a great atmosphere, flat and fast trails.
Two main distances and a children's race
The race has three courses. The Half Marathon begins on the athletics track and runs between Magaluf, Son Ferrer, and Palmanova, finishing at the Magaluf athletics track.
The 10 km race follows a very fast urban circuit and also finishes at the Magaluf athletics track.
In addition, the event features a children's race, aimed at children up to 15 years of age, which takes place on the same athletics track.
International and Sports-Tourism Reach
The race has established itself as one of the events with the greatest tourism and sports reach in the municipality. This statement is supported, amongst other data, by the fact that more than 60% of the participants are from outside the island, of whom 50% are from other countries. Fifty-nine nationalities will be represented in the race, being the United Kingdom, Spain, and Germany the most numerous.
In addition to the race, organisers are working on parallel activities, such as entertainment venues, a traveling Pasta Party, etc., which help participants generate an economic impact in the area and stay longer in the destination.
The edition's novelties
The 2025 edition of Half Marathon Magaluf will bring some novelties. There will be more entertainment venues with local music groups, batucada bands (drums), DJs, and speakers, which will serve to create a lively atmosphere.
New services are also being incorporated to enhance the race experience, such as local products at refreshment stations and personalised experiences.
Organisation, sponsorship and support
The Half Marathon Magaluf is organised by Fundación Calvià 365 and Ajuntament de Calvià, with the support of the Federació Balear de Atletismo (Balearic Athletics Federation).
This race would not be possible without the invaluable help of the municipality's sports clubs, which provide volunteering team, nor without the entities responsible for safety, security, and emergencies at the event (Local Police, Civil Protection), and without the collaboration of Calvià citizens.
