The list of the 99 social housing units in Santa Ponça approved in Plenary Session.

  • It will be published in the BOIB to open a period for appeals
  • All the social housing units are for Calvià residents
  • Seven years of residence in the municipality has been required

The list of the 99 social housing units in the development located at Avenida Miguel de Unamuno number 11 in Santa Ponça has been approved in the Extraordinary Plenary Session of Calvià Town Hall. In the next few days it will be published in the BOIB and a one-month period for submitting appeals for reversal will open. Afterwards, the final award will be made. The 99 social housing units will be for Calvià citizens who have proven uninterrupted residence for a period of seven years.

Jaime Bujosa, Deputy Mayor for Urban Planning and Housing, explained that "it has been a long, costly process, with a lot of bureaucracy and deadlines to be respected." Regarding the award criteria, he said that "I am very pleased that all the homes are for Calvià residents. We established the seven-year residency requirement that other municipalities are now copying and I think it has been a success."

Bujosa wanted to thank the Housing officials for their effort and work during the process. The cyber attack suffered by the Town Hall meant that for 4 months it was not possible to access the applicants' documentation. There have been provisional lists, pleadings and resolutions from the IBAVI, a complex itinerary to guarantee the award of VPOs with the greatest transparency.
