- The agreement strengthens a successful collaboration that began in 2020 and aims to promote viable entrepreneurial initiatives through awareness-raising, training, and mentoring activities
Calvià Town Hall and the Asociación Seniors Españoles para la Cooperación Técnica (SECOT Balears) (Spanish Seniors Association for Technical Cooperation) have signed a new collaboration agreement today to develop a comprehensive awareness-raising, training, and mentoring programme aimed at entrepreneurs and companies in the municipality. The agreement has been signed by the mayor of Calvià, Juan Antonio Amengual Guasp, and the president of SECOT Balears, Ignacio Miranda Larrucea.
This agreement, which will come into force tomorrow and will have an initial duration of one year, extendable to four, is endowed with 4.000 euros and continues the fruitful collaboration between both institutions that began in August 2020, the results of which have been very positively valued by both parties.
A comprehensive programme to support entrepreneurship
The new agreement, promoted by the Calvià Training and Employment Institute (IFOC), includes several lines of action aimed at promoting entrepreneurship. Amongst the highlighted activities are the Genera un modelo de negocio ganador (Create a winning business model) workshops, which will train participants in the use of the Lienzo del Modelo de Negocio (Business Model Canvas) tool and will act as a jury to assess the business models presented.
In addition, a personalised mentoring and consulting service will be offered for people referred by the IFOC, as well as several specific training courses in entrepreneurship. Finally, there will be active participation in the Calvià Emprèn Competition, contributing to the development of innovative projects.
Senior experience at the service of new projects
SECOT Balears will contribute the experience of its volunteers to the programme: professionals from various economic sectors who, after completing their professional careers, wish to contribute to business development by offering their services free of charge.
The agreement thus channels the commitment of both institutions to promote viable entrepreneurial initiatives, support local small businesses, and contribute to the sustainable economic development of the municipality of Calvià.
