Calvià Town Hall disseminates the heritage, historical and natural values of the Galatzó estate in the different educational centres of the municipality. Two documentary videos about the Galatzó estate made by the filmmakers Luis Ortas and Ángel Galmés have been shared with the centres so that they can be used for educational purposes in the Calvià educational community. They highlight the ethnographic value of the public estate and highlight this emblematic natural space.

The videos were presented at the 4th edition of the Calvià Environmental Awards, which took place on 8th February, an event in which Calvià recognised the most innovative and committed initiatives with regards to sustainability and conservation in the municipality in fields such as environmental restoration, biodiversity, ecological awareness and waste reduction.

The short films - edited in Spanish, Catalan, English and German - have been shared not only with the public and private Primary and Secondary Education schools in the municipality, but also with the nursery schools, libraries, Educational Reinforcement Centres (CREC), Adult School (CEPA), Calvià University Centre (CUC), and the Official Language School of Calvià.

The video Galatzó: Entre ciencia y tradición (Between science and tradition), by Luis Ortas, is a work that stands out for its sensitivity and the connection it creates between the viewer and the Galatzó estate. Through a narration that uses the wind as the voice of the story, the filming is accompanied by music that adds mystery and emotion. The images from a drone's view, the sounds and the scenes create an atmosphere that awakens interest in the estate. Galatzó: Entre ciencia y tradición allows us to feel the soul of the estate by capturing the history that gives life to this space with a special magnetism.

The estate is also the protagonist of the video Galatzó: La naturaleza que nos conecta (The nature that connects us), an audiovisual piece by Ángel Galmés that highlights the relationship between nature and the human being. The story is told through a Moorish tortoise, an emblematic species of our territory, which guides us on a tour of the biodiversity of this land. The Moorish tortoise reflects on the cycle of life, in which humans, animals and plants collaborate in a natural choreography that preserves the estate.

The consistory recently commissioned the production of these two short films to highlight the heritage values of the public estate by showing its natural and cultural legacy. The audiovisual pieces are being used this week as a promotional tool for Calvià at the ITB tourism fair in Berlin. They were also screened at the FITUR fair in Madrid last January. Through their dissemination at tourism fairs, the message of respect and conservation of the estate as a nature tourism destination and the commitment to the sustainability of Calvià reaches a wider audience.
