- 14 young people aged between 18 and 30 take part in the Erasmus+ project
- They will live in the Piedmontese town of Bergolo alongside young people from Italy, Finland and Germany
Calvià is once again taking part in the Erasmus+ project, an activity subsidised by the European Union in which young people of different nationalities meet and live together in a rural environment. The 2025 edition is taking place under the motto “Disconnect from social networks, connect with nature”. 14 young people from Calvià aged between 18 and 30 will join others from Italy, Germany and Finland in the Piedmontese town of Bergolo, in the Italian Alps.
Calvià Town Hall's Youth Department is working on this proposal focused on sport, nutrition, disconnection from social networks and healthy living as opposed to urban habits. For ten days - from 17th to 27th April - they will disconnect from electronic devices and social networks.
Teresa Tena, Councillor for Youth at Calvià Town Hall, has praised the experience as enriching: "Every year we see how young people who participate in Erasmus+ return transformed, better people, aware that the world is more than what they know. They all agree that this type of experiences leave an ever-lasting imprint on them. And the Town Hall must support these programmes that offer young people unique and unrepeatable experiences."
Young people get to know other cultures and show their own to the other participants while analysing similarities and differences. The aim is introspection, camaraderie, a commitment to sport and a non-sedentary lifestyle. Working on emotions through interpersonal relationships within the framework of a sustainable lifestyle. Interested young people can register in the Youth Department until 8th February.
