In April 2017, for the second consecutive year, Calvià City Council signed an agreement with Treball Solidari whose objective is the implementation by the entity, in collaboration with the different municipal services, of a microcredit program to provide technical and financial support self-employment and the creation and strengthening of small businesses and income-generating activities.
The Program is aimed at women resident and registered in Calvià and who live in a situation of social and/or financial exclusion so that they can access the microcredit program for self-employment carried out by the social entity. The women beneficiaries of the program receive small credits that they pay back monthly. The beneficiaries go through a selection process in which the technicians of Treball Solidari and different services of the Calvià City Council participate in coordination, especially from Social Services and the IFOC. The City Council provides 33,950 euros per year for this program.
