Quality was the key to the fair's success.

Over 3,500 people visited the II Mostra de Cuina de Calvià, which took place on the 22nd, 23rd and 24th November in Ses Forquetes de Son Caliu. The number of visitors was particularly high on the last two days. In fact, some restaurants served as many as 1,600 portions of their recipe, thereby surpassing even the most optimistic predictions.
The fair's closing ceremony was held on the 24th November, at 11p.m., during the course of a function in which certificates and commemorative plates were awarded to all those who participated. Isidre Cañellas, the First Deputy Mayor in charge of Trade of Calvià Town Council, closed the II Mostra de Cuina de Calvià by thanking all the restaurants and collaborating companies for their attendance. Cañellas didn´t hesitate in describing Calvià's second food fair as a success which helped to consolidate the event, thereby advancing that there will be a third food fair. Lastly, he reminded people that the ultimate objective of the food fair is to make people aware of the rich and varied cuisine that Calvià offers its residents and tourists, so that eating out becomes another one of this municipality's attractions and improves the financial situation of the sector.

For his part, Antoni Mas, Chairman of the Majorca Bar, Cafeteria, and Restaurant Business Association, also congratulated all the restaurants and collaborating companies on their professionalism and on the excellent standard of quality they offered during the II Mostra de Cuina de Calvià . Likewise, he expressed the willingness of the association he presides to continue collaborating with the fair which helps to make restaurant sector more dynamic.
The following restaurants participated in the 2005 Mostra de Cuina de Calvià: Ciro's, Gran Buffet Siglo XXI, Ses Forquetes, Tahini, Sa Vinya des Capdellà, Gran Casino de Mallorca, IES Calvià, La Gritta and Marítimo, as well as the patisseries Squarcia Tartas de Autor and Kitchen d'Or. Three wine cellars supplied the wine: Divino, Suministros Escalas and Masia Duch. The companies that collaborated at the II Mostra were Menorquina, Cafès Palma, Palmapán, Comercial Bordoy, ECR Balear and Dos Perellons, as well as Barskolan, the cocktail school in Magaluf that offered demonstrations and organized the I Concurs de Bàrmans de Calvià (Calvià's first Barman Competition). On 22nd November the prizes were presented to the four winners of the competition: Rafael Martín Torres, barman at the Maricel Hotel, in Cas Català (first prize); Antoni Valero Massanet, from Es Pati de Montuïri (second prize); Onofre Pol Matheu, from the Son Net Hotel, in Puigpunyent (third prize); and Alejo Tissera, from the Gallery Club (special mention).

At the closing ceremony, awards were also presented to the six chefs who participated in the cooking show, one of the main novelties of the second year of the food fair. They went to Virginia González (Sa Cuina de n'Aina), Miguel Maldonado (Gran Buffet Siglo XXI), Ricardo Requena (Gran Casino de Mallorca), María José Mulet Mayol (D'Aliza), Antoni Piña (IES Calvià) and Cati Aguiló (Club Cocinarte).

Besides Calvià Town Council, the Majorca Bar, Cafeteria, and Restaurant Business Association helped to organize the II Mostra de Cuina de Calvià and it was also sponsored by the Consell de Mallorca (Majorca Island Council).
