The Local Police, in compliance with the Police and Good Governance municipal regulation, confiscated more than 25.000 objects to hawkers, in 2010.
The Local Police carried out a total of 1.650 confiscations to hawkers, last year, in compliance with the Police and Good Governance municipal regulation, which prohibits the sale of articles on the public way without the corresponding municipal licence.
More than 25.000 confiscated objects, which were not reclaimed by the offenders after the payment of the corresponding fees, were collected by the company Calvià 2000 for its subsequent destruction.
The approximate value of mentioned objects in the current market is hovering around the 140.000 euros.
It is to be highlighted that, from the Police side, they will continue safeguarding in order to guarantee the respective municipal regulations fulfilment.
