The collective exhibition of the cultural association Art Calvià will be able to be visited at the Calvià Town Hall´s multi-purpose room from Thursday 6th October until 27th October, becoming therefore the VIII announcement carried out in this exhibition hall. The inauguration will take place tomorrow at 20 hours and the hours of visit are from 9 to 14 hours, from Monday to Friday.
The idea of creating an association of artists and art lovers, started in July 2000, when a group of friends went to see an exhibition in Manacor. At first, there were only twelve people wanting to go on excursions, meetings, cultural visits.... but it was in the very first meeting when they thought that creating an association, they could integrate more people with their same interests: artists and people interested in the world of art. Thus, they followed the official steps in order to create this “association” open for everybody, and they called it Art Calvià.
At present, the association counts with representatives of the different art fields: painters, sculptors, ceramists, photographers... who provide all kind of information about contests, meetings or exhibitions through a monthly newsletter, apart from the possibility of carrying out individual or collective exhibitions around the whole island.
Art Calvià also organizes recreational activities: excursions, visits, lunches; to sum up, meetings for the member´s enjoyment, sharing experiences. The association´s headquarters is located at the Culture House in Magaluf and its telephone number is as follows: 971 131 973.
