The consistory will assign in the 2013 budget an item of 60.000 euros in order to do not let more than 150 beneficiaries without service.
The Calvià Town Hall has announced that will guarantee, as from 1st January 2013, the maintenance of the telecare service to all those Social Services users having it at their disposal, in this moment in time, in the same conditions, with no added cost, although the Central Government had taken away from their accounts the item assigned to cover this service. 60.000 euros is the municipal budget aimed for this purpose.
The Town Hall prevented this solution just when, unofficially, knew of the elimination of the economic item assigned, for the financing of this service in the State´s General Budget.
The official communication, issued by the FEMP, which confirmed the elimination of said item, was received by this Town Hall on 5th November, when it was already contemplated in the 2013 Budget´s project the cost of the service for next year.
Although the Town Hall made this decision from the first moment, it continues dealing with the Autonomous Community and the Balearic Council with the aim of achieving new financing links through the development of the Dependant Care Law.
The Calvià Town Hall´s Social Services cover, in this moment in time, the telecare service to 153 users through 147 terminals.
