The tournament, which starts on Thursday, counts with the participation of 96 teams from 26 countries. The event´s economic impact will reach one million euros.
Today, the Calvià Town Hall has presented the Mallorca Football Tournament, a sport event which expects to gather more than 1.000 participants from twenty-six countries and which will be held in Santa Ponça.
The tournament, which is a reduced version of the prestigious "World Police Indoor Soccer Tournament", will be held in Santa Ponça from Thursday 9th May until Monday 13th and in which police officers, firemen, customs officers, military staff and staff of the Ministry of the Interior will participate with special invitations from the organization.
The organization expects about 2.000 people, amongst participants and companions, who will be staying in four hotels of Santa Ponça.
The destination´s total economic impact (adding the direct and the indirect) could reach to almost one thousand euros.
Thus, the consistory reinforces its commitment with the binomial sport and tourism, for which it is commited to from the beginning of the legislature.
